Reminder for boating safety
The weather is changing and it's definitely getting hot. Summertime will soon be here. Next time you look it will be time to cruise those waves, deep sea fish, take adventurous trips, scuba dive, or just get away from the world on your boat.
Just a public reminder for boaters. If you have a boat 20 feet or less, for inshore waters you will need to have on board one life jacket for each person, two oars/paddles, one bailer/manual bilge pump, one anchor, three feet of chain, 100 feet of rope, one horn, and one flashlight.
If offshore you need those items plus; three red flares, three red rockets, three orange smokes, one dye marker, one mirror, and one fire extinguisher.
For boats 20-40 feet, inshore you will need to have on board; one life jacket for each person, two oars/paddles, one bailer/manual bilge pump, one anchor, three feet of chain, 150 feet of rope, one horn, one flashlight, one life buoy.
If offshore you need those plus; three red flares, three red rockets, three orange smokes, one dye marker, one mirror, and one fire extinguisher.
