Police, Fire had quiet holiday

Apart from a housebreaking and two boats sinking at their moorings, Bermuda?s emergency services had a very quiet Christmas period especially compared to last year. A spokesman from Harbour Radio said last night the high winds on Monday caused some vessels to sink on their moorings ? including a 26 foot at Riddells Bay and a 28-footer at Jews Bay, however, this was fairly typical for the time of year.

The only reported crime this holiday weekend occurred sometime between 12.30 p.m. and 12 p.m. on Monday when a King Street, Pembroke home was broken into. ?When he returned at midnight he found that his room had been entered and ransacked by unknown persons,? it said. ?Missing from the house was cards and an undisclosed amount of money.?

The Bermuda Fire Service had nothing to report.
