Greenslade wins Optimist title
Bermuda's World Team sailor Joshua Greenslade won the the Bermuda Optimist Dinghy Association (BODA) National Championships held recently in the Great Sound.
Greenslade, who is easily the Island's most accomplished Optimist sailor at present, easily beat a fleet of 24 sailors.
His total score at the end of the nine-race regatta was a mere ten points, comfortably ahead of the the second-placed Conor Astwood on 31 points ? though at the age of only 12, Astwood performed well beyond expectations.
Meanwhile, in third place was another member of the Island's World Team, Jordan Saints, with 36 points.
The regatta was the final qualifier for a team of 15 sailors who will be participating in the International Optimist Dinghy Association's South American regatta to be held in Rio De Janeiro in March next year.
The following sailors, in order of qualification, have been selected to represent Bermuda: Jordan Saints, Connor Astwood, Anthony Bailey, Kalin Hillier, Jason Saints, James Anfossi, Blake Burgess, Brian Bulhoes, Owen Siese, Ryan Powell, Kyle Burgess, Sam Stan, Kelsey Durham and Chris Sposato.
