Promotion for long-serving seven
investigations and special branch divisions of the Bermuda Police Service, have been recently promoted.
They are: Superintendents Larry Smith and Vic Richmond, Chief Inspectors Jonathan Smith, George Jackson, and Philip Every, and Inspectors Roseanda Jones and Maurice Pett.
Supt. Richmond, 49, is married with two children.
After joining the force in 1966, he served in uniform and CID.
He has received the Commissioner's Commendation and has also been awarded the Colonial Medal for long service.
Six years after he joined the Police, Supt. Smith, 47, was awarded the Colonial Police Medal for gallantry.
He received a Commissioner's Commendation a year later.
Chief Insp. Jonathan Smith, 35, has headed several major investigations since he joined the force in 1979.
He began in the uniform division followed by stints in narcotics, and latterly in CID.
Fellow Chief Insp. Every, 45, was the officer in charge of the marine section for a number of years although he currently heads up the Eastern Division.
Meanwhile, Chief Insp. Jackson, 42, served the force in uniform, CID and narcotics.
He is married with four children and lives in Devonshire.
Insp. Roseanda Jones' current responsibility involves the force's community and media relations department although she has also served in uniform and CID since joining the Police in 1978.
She is joined by fellow Insp. Maurice Pett, 49, who has served since 1971, in both uniform and CID.
