BFA get tough with soccer troublemakers
Swearing, head-butting an opponent and kicking a goalkeeper in the head are among the latest offences for which local footballers are being suspended.
The worst-hit are Derrick Wright of St. George's All-Stars and Kirk Simons of Somerset Eagles who have received six and five-match bans respectively.
The former was disciplined for cursing as well as threatening the referee and attempting to strike the latter in an FA Cup fixture between his club and Southampton Rangers on October 24.
Meanwhile, Simons will be on the sidelines after swearing at an official during Eagles' November 14 game against Boulevard.
Devonshire Colts' Omar Ray will sit out two games for head-butting a Prospect player in their November 7 encounter.
Devonshire's Commercial outfit, the Lions, will also be missing a player as Trevor Smith has been banned for two matches.
Fighting as well as kicking Tuff Dogs goalkeeper in the head earned him this sanction following their October 23 game.
Tuff Dogs' Christopher Pett has also been punished for fighting and cursing the referee during the same match. He has been suspended for one game.
