St.David's all but clinched the second promotion spot with this convincing victory yesterday.
By hammering Social Club, the Islanders extended the gap between themselves and third-placed Somerset Eagles to five points with three games remaining as Eagles were held to a draw by Prospect.
St. David's now need to win one of their two remaining matches against bottom team Ireland Rangers and Eagles to ensure promotion.
Social Club were eliminated from contention with another big defeat as Kemo Bean, Lionel Cann and an own goal accounted for St. David's' 3-1 lead at the half. Kimani Fubler replied for Social Club.
St. David's scored three more in the second half, but not before Social Club pulled it back to 3-2 with a spectacular second goal from Fubler who scored with an overhead kick.
An equally brilliant goal from midfielder Chae Simmons in the 61st minute restored the St. David's lead when the youngster beat two players before unleashing a shot from 35 yards that hit the roof of the net.
Lionel Cann scored his second goal from the penalty spot after 76 minutes when he was fouled after meeting a pass from Simmons. Substitute Shane Weeks closed out the scoring with a simple knock-in from close range.
Som.Eagles 2 Prospect 2 Eagles' slim hopes of promotion from the Second Division were kept alive with a late goal from forward Leon Woods at White Hill.
Just when it looked as though visiting Prospect would snatch maximum points, Woods drove the ball home from close range to give Eagles the draw with only a minute left.
Eagles had taken a 1-0 lead after 26 minutes through Jevon Roberts, but Prospect levelled before the half through Rashon Douglas. After a number of misses by both teams Prospect went ahead through Andrew Rollins' blast from 16 yards after 70 minutes but the determined Eagles rallied to earn a late equaliser.
PHC 8 Paget 2 Second Division champions PHC, refusing to take their foot off the throttle after winning the league title a week ago, powered their way to a one-sided victory over sixth placed Paget at Southampton Oval.
The onslaught saw PHC take their tally to 49 goals in 12 games, easily surpassing that of any First Division side.
Leading their attack once again was Kenny Mills with a hat-trick while other goals came from Stevie Astwood, Mike Williams, Corey Thomas, Corey Dowling and Devar Williams.

Player-coach Neil Paynter opened the scoring in the 15th minute before Everest Trott added the second in the 42nd. Clifton (Chinky) Simmons netted twice, in the 46th and 77th minutes, after Mike Mendes had pulled one back for Rangers in the 59th minute. Yusaff Pitt netted the fifth five minutes from the end.
