Pair tie for first

thrilling scooter series as the Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Club championship resumed at Southside raceway last weekend.

After winning the first two races, Lightbourne (1-1-6-3) let his level slip, allowing the more consistent Smith (5-2-2-2) to draw level with him on 106 points. Shannon Caisey continued his all-conquering season, with four-race clean sweeps in both the mini stock and GP/Heavyweight classes.

In the mini stocks runners-up spots were Aaron Persad and Jonathan Tumbridge.

Persad is now tied at the top of the championship standings with Joshua Tumbridge. In the GP class, Caisey cruised to victory ahead of of Leroy Trott and Justin Belboda, capitalising on his superior Aprilia RS bike. Shawn DeRosa tied for first place with Neville Latham in the Group One modified class, with Earlston Bradshaw third. David Jones won the Group Two modified class, with Grant Goudge second and Alex Dowling third.
