Cash elected Business Bermuda chairman
Endurance Specialty Holdings CEO David Cash has been elected chairman of Business Bermuda by the board of directors, it was announced yesterday.Mr Cash replaces Vicki Coelho who recently completed her two-year term as chairman.In his new role, Mr Cash will be responsible for working with Cheryl Packwood, the CEO of Business Bermuda, to promote Bermuda’s international business offerings both in Bermuda and around the world. He brings the perspective of an insurance company executive to his role, which will broaden the base of support and focus of the organisation.“I am pleased to take on the role as chairman and thank Vicki Coelho for all of her efforts over the past two years,” said Mr Cash. “I believe that Business Bermuda is well-positioned to market the jurisdiction and I look forward to working with Cheryl, her team and the board, to further the efforts of the organisation and grow international business in Bermuda.”Ms Coelho said: “It has been my pleasure to serve as chairman of Business Bermuda over the past two years. The organisation has been transformed into a dynamic and active advocate for Bermuda’s international business community. I know David will bring a fresh and very valuable perspective that will help lead the organisation to new levels of excellence and success.”Ms Packwood said: “Vicki was an outstanding partner in all of our efforts. She worked tirelessly to promote our efforts and build support from our members and government. On behalf of all our members and my staff, I want to thank her. A united effort from all international businesses in Bermuda will bring even more energy and focus that I am confident will yield great results for our entire jurisdiction.”Mr Cash, a Bermudian, has been with Endurance since its founding in 2001, serving as the company’s chief actuary/chief risk officer, president of Endurance’s Bermuda operating company and, most recently, as the company’s chief underwriting officer.He previously worked for various Zurich Financial Services subsidiaries and prior to that served as a consulting actuary at Tillinghast-Towers Perrin.
