St George’s man denies theft charges

A St George’s man charged with a slew of offences involving stolen goods has been bailed pending trial in Magistrates’ Court.

Marvin Woolridge, 51, of Cove Valley Road, was accused of stealing an Apple iPhone and Louis Vuitton handbag valued at $1,000 belonging to Khadijah Daniels — or, as an alternate charge, of receiving the items as stolen goods. He denied the charge.

According to prosecutor Carrington Mahoney, Mr Woolridge was also accused of similar offences involving cash to the sum of $5,200 belonging to Elizabeth Hanson, on November 14, 2013, and a saw worth $1,250 belonging to landscaper Colin Mello, on July 5, 2014.

He was additionally charged with burgling Dunkley’s Dairy of four boxes of chicken, valued at $200, on June 25, 2014.

Magistrate Juan Wolffe gave Mr Woolridge bail of $2,000, with a trial date to be set later this month.
