Man denies stealing $15,000 gold chain

Allegations of dishonestly receiving a stolen $15,000 gold chain and pendant landed a man in court yesterday.Marvin Woolridge, 49, of St George’s, denied the charge.No information about the case, dating from June 14, was given by prosecutor Larissa Burgess. The victim was named as Michael Pierre.Mr Woolridge told Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner: “It’s wasting the court’s time. I should not be here.” He described himself as a person who lives alone and is employed.Mr Warner fixed his trial date for September 17 and granted him $5,000 bail, specifying that he is allowed to travel overseas during the month of July for medical treatment.
