Police prosecutor Sgt. Anthony Mouchette said officers followed Benjamin to Happy Valley Road where they pulled him over.

Benjamin told them he had consumed one beer.

But subsequent tests at the Hamilton Police Station showed that Benjamin had 217 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres.

Magistrate Edward King fined Benjamin $600 and banned him from driving all motor vehicles for one year.

Christine Sassamo, of New York, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to having .47 grams of cannabis in a cigarette.

Prosecuter Sgt. Anthony Mouchette told the court that Sassamo was searched soon after the Dreamward arrived in Bermuda on June 31.

When Customs officers looked through her cigarette box they found a rolled cigarette containing plant material, Sgt. Mouchette said.

When the substance was taken to the Hamilton Police Station and tested it was confirmed to be cannabis, he added.

Sassamo told Magistrate Edward King: "I'm sorry, I meant no disrespect.'' Mr. King responded that if she was aware that drugs were illegal in Bermuda, then she had disrespected the law.

Alliston Dill, 34, of Glebe Road, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to possessing 0.58 grams of cannabis on February 14.

Prosecutor Sgt. Anthony Mouchette said Police were on patrol in an area known as the "Pepper Pot'' on Glebe Road and St. Monica's Road in Pembroke when they spotted Dill.

When Dill noticed the officers, he placed something into his mouth and walked off.

Sgt. Mouchette said when the officers detained and began to search Dill, he spat out an envelope, containing cannabis.

DRIVER OVER THE LIMIT CTS Driver over the limit A 22-year-old man was fined $450 and disqualified from all vehicles for one year when he appeared in Magistrates' Court.

Prosecutor Sgt. Anthony Mouchette said that at 1 a.m. on May 14, Oliver Barnett Lindsey of Pembroke was driving on Richmond Road when he was stopped by Police.

After alco-analysing him, he was found to have 200 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, two and a half times the legal limit.
