Thieves keep Police busy over holiday weekend

An empty apartment was raided while its owner was on holiday in the UK. A TV and video, cash and personal items were taken from the Grosvenor Court, Pembroke home.

An empty apartment was raided while its owner was on holiday in the UK. A TV and video, cash and personal items were taken from the Grosvenor Court, Pembroke home.

In addition, a backpack containing a cellphone, cash, credit cards, camera and other personal items were taken from a car parked at the Bulls Head car park during Friday daytime. And another vehicle, parked on Cedar Avenue, was hit on Saturday morning. The thieves took US currency and personal cheques in a brown leather knapsack.

Meanwhile, cash and cheques were stolen from a residence at Dudley Hill, Paget on Saturday morning. In other incidents: Thieves took four fishing rods from a boat moored below Somerset Bridge apartments on Saturday afternoon.

The rods included two Shakespeares, Cerebos dark grey model and a 750SS pen with a white and red reel.

US visitors staying at Tucker's Town discovered cash stolen after a day out on Saturday. The couple, from New Jersey, returned to their rented home to find out it had been broken into.
