US journalists to get a taste of Bermuda
Journalists from top US publications will spend Cup Match in Bermuda as guests of the Bermuda Government.Tourism Minister Patrice Minors told the House of Assembly the Department of Tourism hopes they will return to their desks and write positively about the Island.She explained the reporters come from publications including Jet Magazine, J’Adore, Beer Connoisseur, Atlanta Voice, Destination Weddings and Honeymoons and the Huffington Post.Mrs Minors said the journalists will arrive today and stay at the Hamilton Princess before moving on to experience another hotel that she did not name.Among the activities they will experience are a tour of Dockyard and a visit to the Beachfest concert at Horseshoe Beach which is being organised by Chewstick.Mrs Minors said Government is supporting that event as part of its commitment to local entertainment. The reporters will also visit Cup Match and be given drinks in the visitors’ tent.“These journalists will be treated to Bermuda hospitality at its best,” she said.“When they go back to their desks and start writing in their various publications, they will write about the wonderful experience they had.“We are promoting Bermuda to the best of our ability and this goes really far in doing just that.”
