"The criminal justice system hasn't failed. Each person involved has performed his or her duty as the law required. The tragedy of the loss of a young person's life cannot be easy to bear. Michael Dunkley responding to Premier Ewart Brown taking two security guards with him to the Bayou Classic between Louisiana's Southern University and Grambling State University on the Bermuda public purse.

"I think it reflects such horrible arrogance. I, along with everybody I know, is just so hurt over the disenfranchisement of white people in Bermuda. The current state of affairs is just so alarming to me." Claire Smith, a 51-year-old Warwick business woman in response to MP Walter Roban's e-mail where he said he doesn't respond to "racists or bigots". Ms Smith e-mailed all PLP MP's to complain about the Premier.

"In my view, Dr. Brown has taken this legal action against me to shut me and others in the Opposition United Bermuda Party up. I think he hopes to silence all opposition to his action by this method. But I believe I have a responsibility to the people of Bermuda to oppose the Government when it misbehaves, so I will not be silenced." Kim Swan on receiving a letter from Dr. Brown's lawyer to retract statement that the law was broke by resettling Uighurs.

"I do not assign security for myself and I do not nominate who attends and when and where. Security locally and overseas is assigned to me with the consent of the Commissioner of Police and based on an assessment conducted by the Bermuda Police Service." Premier Ewart Brown on why he has security at the Bayou Classic in Louisiana.

"I have listened to my constituents say "where is your backbone? Where is your spine? We put you in there and what are you doing?." El James on why he called for Dr. Brown's resignation.
