Who says there aren't any good English managers?

Over the years we have heard people saying that there are hardly any good English managers. That's why so many teams go for foreign coaches in the Premiership.

Well I say that is rubbish!

Just look at what my friend and former teammate Harry Redknapp has done with Spurs this season and also more importantly what Roy Hodgson has done with little Fulham who looked like they were going to be relegated when he took over the club in the winter of 2007.

This season Fulham have had a fantastic season especially in Europe where they will meet Atletico Madrid in Hamburg on Wednesday in the Europa League final.

That is an amazing achievement for the small club like Fulham who beat the likes of holders Shakhtar, Italian giants Juventus and German champions Wolfsburg and then came from behind to gain a 2-1 aggregate victory over Hamburg in the semi-finals. This will be Fulham's first major European final in their long history which stretches back to 130 years.

Hodgson is also one of the most respected managers in England ¿ even the great Sir Alex Ferguson called for him to be named manager of the year.

And unlike many English managers Hodgson has also travelled Europe coaching teams.

He was in charge of Switzerland when they managed to get to the last 16 of the 1994 World Cup and also qualify for Euro 1996. And he has coached sides like Inter Milan, Malmö, Blackburn Rovers, Grasshopper, Copenhagen and Udinese.

Many thought that he should have been in line for the England job.

And I couldn't be more pleased for Harry Redknapp who managed to get Spurs into the Champions League for the first time after they beat Manchester City 1-0 this week at City.

That is a first for Harry and Spurs and I am sure they will do a good job next season in Europe.

After a great playing career Harry came up through the management ranks taking charge of Bournemouth in the early 1980s. Before taking over at Spurs he managed the likes of West Ham, Portsmouth, Southampton and then had another spell at Portsmouth where he won the FA Cup in 2008.

Right now I am in Barbados watching the cricket but I did go down to the pub to watch the Spurs/City match tjhis week. There are a lot of England cricket supporters here in Barbados and many turned out ¿ a lot of City fans and Spurs fans.

And I know that Spurs fans were simply over the moon about getting into the Champions League.

Harry has some really good players at Spurs and I can't say enough about Peter Crouch who scored the only goal. I thought it was fitting that Spurs won ¿ they attacked constantly and Crouch saw a ball come off the woodwork as well.

Capello must take Crouch to South Africa and in fact I think he should start the big fella who does have a lot of skill as well. I think he and Rooney could do the business at the World Cup and then you have Defoe as well ¿ another striker for Harry at Spurs.

So anyone who says that English managers can't do it at the top level don't have a clue what they are talking about ¿ saying that is absolute nonsense.

The end of the English Premier season is on Sunday with all games kicking off at the same time ¿ unusual these days.

With Portsmouth, Burnley and Hull all relegated, all eyes will be on who will win the title.

Chelsea are in the driver's seat ¿ no doubt about that. They are at home to Wigan while second place Manchester United are at home to Stoke.

I know Wigan have beaten Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal this season and United fans will be hoping for them to beat Chelsea or at least play them to a draw.

But in all honestly I cannot see it ¿ I really can't.

Chelsea are too strong at home but you never know. If United beat Stoke and Chelsea are beaten or even draw Wigan the title will go to United for the fourth consecutive time which has never happened since the Premier League was established. But I think Drogba and company will come out on top.

Like England, the title races in Italy and Spain are going down to the wire.

Both leagues have a couple of rounds left but Jose Mourinho showed why he is the Special One again this week when his Inter side beat Roma for the Italian Cup.

That is the first of of the Treble out of the way. Now he will be looking for the Serie A title and of course the Champions League title later this month when Inter face Bayern Munich.

In Spain, Ronaldo has been on fire for Real Madrid who only trail Barcelona by a point.

Ronaldo has scored five goals in the last two games ¿ he got a hat-trick against Mallorca this week and will be looking to get more when Real face Athletic Bilbao.

Meanwhile Sevilla will host Barcelona.

It's everything to play for.
