The Island has been hailed as having "one of the most technologically advanced telecommunications systems in the world''.

And the CEO of a US software development company declared that he was proud to do business with Bermuda.

Logic Communications has signed an agreement with Voice Mobility International, Inc. the developer of the Unified Communications(tm) software suite, to jointly provide the Unified communications software to Bermuda's telephone, Internet and cellular phone users.

"This installation represents a significant step in our global growth strategy,'' said Jay Hutton, Voice Mobility's Chief Executive Officer.

"Bermuda has one of the most technologically advanced telecommunications systems in the world, so this agreement attests to our leadership in the unified messaging industry.

"It also gives us the opportunity to collaborate early in the development of a sophisticated new, and truly convergent, telecommunications market,'' he added.

"Bermuda is at the forefront of telecommunications regulatory reform, and is home to industry participants with global reach like Concert and Global Crossing.

"We welcome the opportunity to work with Logic in this exciting and developing market,'' he continued.

The new software suite allows users to receive all of their phone, cellular and fax calls through a single phone number. It also will provide them the ability to retrieve all their messages from a single mailbox.

Voice Mobility anticipates that the agreement will provide approximately $1 million in revenue over the next three years.

Logic met Voice Mobility at the ISPCon trade show in Florida this May. "We wanted a company on the leading edge of this technology and strongly feel Voice Mobility is the right company, with the right product,'' said Logic's Chief Operation Officer, Jeff Hamill.

"This agreement adds Voice Mobility's high-value Unified Communications software suite to our expanding portfolio. Clearly, products such as Voice Mobility's Unified Communications suite are the way the world is going to go to simplify the increasingly complicated world of telecommunications,'' he added.

Logic expects to make the new service available to its customers within the next two months. A fee structure has not as yet been decided on but Mr. Hamill said the company was looking "at a package which will ultimately drive down the costs of services'' on the Island.

"We are looking at some unique bundling which would incorporate Internet, phone and our fax on demand service,'' he said, "but right now we are still in the analysis stage of coming up with price.''
