BHS’ Environment Pillar leader, Antoinette Webb stated, “I think that a plastic Christmas tree would be better to buy for a number of reasons. You only buy it once, so you can reuse it for years to come and it saves other trees from being chopped down. Though an actual Christmas tree might have the smell and charm, if you look at it from an environmentally-friendly view, not only the earth wins, but we all win.” And if you miss the pine scent, try spraying some pine aroma therapy oil on your plastic tree.Another alternative is to buy a potted cedar tree and use it as a Christmas tree. After the holidays you can replant the tree in your yard or in a nature reserve. In Bermuda one can buy a 9-10ft Christmas tree for $150 and a 7-8ft one for $95, so for a similar price you can buy a tree to plant that can provide you with beauty and clean air and last a lifetime.
