Thieves raid couple's jewllery collection

The thieves smashed a hole in the front glass door to break into the property in Orange Valley Road.

They then rifled the bedroom, where they found the jewellery.

The haul included two 18-inch 22-carat gold necklaces, one with a cross pendant, a 14-carat lady's ring with two yellow stones, and a 16-inch 14-carat round pendant.

There were also two 22-carat gold rings with white stones, a gold broach with black stones, gold cufflinks, a watch, and a 22-carat gold bracelet with a rope chain.

In addition, there were two other bracelets -- a silver charm, and another of gold with a heart shaped pendant.

Police have declined to reveal the exact value of the haul.

The daylight raiders struck over the weekend while the occupiers were out.
