New HR chief for Hamilton Princess
The soon-to-be revamped Hamilton Princess has signed up a new human resources director.
Jeanette Matthew has joined the team at the iconic hotel as it begins the first stages of a major redevelopment.
Len Czarnecki, general manager of the island’s oldest hotel, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Jeanette on board.
“Our colleagues are an integral part of our operation and I’m confident that Jeanette’s human resources background will assist us in driving our high performance service culture.”
Ms Matthew joins the Princess from financial services firm PwC, where she held several positions before being appointed senior manager of human capital.
Her responsibilities included performance management, coaching and development, leading human resources work and looking after recruitment and immigration matters.
Ms Matthew has previously worked at Rubis Energy and BDC 2000.
She is a graduate of Acadia University and holds a senior professional human resource designation and a certificate in change management from Cornell University.
The hotel, managed by international hotel group Fairmont, was last year bought by the Green family from previous owners Global Hospitality Investments.
The Bermuda family pledged to invest at least $70 million in the hotel. Work will include a new marina, upgraded rooms and redevelopment of the hotel’s public areas.
