Matthews and Dill set for World Cup
Damien Matthews and June Dill will fly the Bermuda flag at the 46th Bowling World Cup being held at Bowling de Provence in Toulon, France, next week.
The pair will compete in the event as the one woman, one man team from Bermuda.
The event is scheduled for October 15 – 24.
Fresh from capturing a bronze medal at the CAC Games this summer, Matthews will be looking to impress against the best in the world, while Dill, who in the same tournament did not win a medal but was Bermuda's top female finisher.
Matthews joined Antoine Jones and Conrad Lister as Bermudian bowlers who have medalled at a major competition.
So far, 147 players have registered from 82 countries for the annual tournament.
The preliminaries consist of four blocks of five games with the top 24 men and women after 20 games advancing to the intermediate round.
The top 24 players bowl another six games with the pinfall total from the preliminaries being carried forward. The top eight men and women after 28 games will then bowl another eight game block to determine the top three men and women ahead of the stepladder finals.
