Jessica: So proud to be the Head Girl

Cairi Albuoy, Deputy Head Boy, Harrington Sound Primary School

My name is Jessica Frias. I’m nine years old and so proud to be the Head Girl of Harrington Sound Primary School. My colleagues are Marley Hines, Head Boy, Chrysda Smith, Deputy Head Girl and Cairi Albouy as Deputy Head Boy. We all work together as a team to support our teachers. As Head Girl I have many duties, from helping teachers to mentoring younger students during lunchtimes. It means I am constantly on the go and love every minute!“It is a dream come true,” was my mom’s reaction when she heard the news. She was speechless as nobody in my family has had such a wonderful opportunity before. Both my parents are very supportive and do all types of jobs to make sure I get the best education. The prefect-pinning ceremony was incredible; hearing the applause from all my classmates and the audience made me feel so nervous. I knew a great deal was expected, and now it was up to me to live up to their expectations. All our parents attended the event as students got pinned as prefects and monitors. Ms Lynette George and Mr Crenstant Williams organized the whole assembly. Ms Lisa Smith, the principal, announced Deputy Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy, Head Girl and Head Boy. That was the whole story!I’m very proud of myself for achieving this goal! Even my brother was very happy for me! It’s definitely a great deal of responsibility, but I can handle it.Finally, there’re going to be a lot of duties for me to do, but I accept the challenge and hope to be the best Head Girl ever. I am going to keep a journal so I will have lasting memories of this special occasion.
