The soldiers of the Bermuda Regiment have continued to tackle challenge after challenge as the overseas training camp in Jamaica nears its conclusion.A Regiment spokesman said that for the last two days a team of VIPs, including Governor Sir Richard Gozney and National Security Minister Wayne Perinchief, have observed their progress as they continue Exercise Rum Runner 2012.“Although the Governor has visited previous camps in Jamaica, he was especially pleased this year with the resilience the soldiers were displaying, despite their challenging operating conditions,” the spokesman said.“Mr Perinchief was very pleased with the military exercise and praised the organisation for its invaluable social benefits.”After almost two weeks in the field, the soldiers will soon enjoy 36 hours of rest and recuperation before returning to Bermuda on Saturday.www.bermudaregiment.bm.
