Butterfield is ?Best Bank in Bermuda?
Butterfield Bank has been named as ?Best Bank in Bermuda? by Euromoney, one of the world?s leading financial publications.
Soledad Contreras of Euromoney said: ?Our editors are the main judges, with the assistance of the correspondents or each region/countries, based initially on the information provided by the banks and their own independent research.?
Euromoney used to present the Best Bank Award for the Caribbean on a regional basis, but since 2006 have implemented new criteria.
Euromoney is now awarding the Best Bank in each of the major countries in the Caribbean and Bermuda has been placed in the Caribbean?s regional catchment area.
The Best Bank award is for institutions with commercial and retail banking capabilities. Half of the evaluation is based on retail capabilities.
Euromoney examine commercial bank?s investment banking activities, although this is not necessary to win.
Ms. Contreras said these benchmark awards highlight high quality products and services across all areas of commercial and investment banking, regionally and globally.
