Bank, BSX continue increase
new high for the year of $39 in the wake of strong earnings and continued speculation that it will be listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange.
On Wednesday, the Bank closed the week up $1.55 -- the Bermuda Stock Exchange was closed on Thursday and Friday for Cup Match -- at $39, a rise of 4.14 percent over three days.
More than 34,000 shares changed hands.
The rise in the bank's shares has driven the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index up to new heights; it closed the week up 2.55 percent or 43.237 points at 1,702.15. The Index's record high is 1,733.
Also gaining was KeyTech Ltd., owner of Bermuda Telephone Company and Internet provider Logic Communications, gained $2 or 6.45 percent to close at $33 -- its high for the year.
Belco Holdings and Bank of Butterfield were unchanged at $19 and $16 respectively.
