Charity classic set for Port Royal
HSBC, in partnership with The Centre on Philanthropy, will host their first Charity Golf Classic next month.
The tournament, a fundraiser in support of strengthening the Bermuda community, will be played at Port Royal on October 17 — soon after the PGA Grand Slam of Golf — and will see participants donating half of their entry fees to a charity of their choice which HSBC will match.
A maximum of 25 five foursomes will participate, paying $2,000 per foursome which will include green fees, carts, continental breakfast, lunch buffet and tournament prizes.
A total of $1,000 from each team’s registration fee will be donated to a local registered charity of their choice and HSBC has pledged to match the donations.
“We are grateful to the Centre on Philanthropy’s support in helping organise the charitable donation process and we look forward to further strengthening our community relationships through this event,” Richard Moseley, the CEO of HSBC, said.
Added Elaine Butterfield, the executive director for the Centre on Philanthropy: “We are grateful and delighted by the interest and support demonstrated by HSBC Ltd in their support for the third sector.
“HSBC’s commitment and contribution will go a long way in the effectiveness of the services provided through our helping services. Corporate giving programmes such as this will change our community for the better. We sincerely hope that many will come out and show their support.”
Deadline for registration is October 3 and for registration details visit www.centreonphilanthropy.org/golf.
