Celebrate Canada day this weekend with a trip to the beach and a barbecue.

The Association of Canadians in Bermuda (ACIB) is hosting its 15th annual Canada Day beach party this Saturday at Warwick Long Bay.

ACIB hosts the event each year to give Canadians and friends the opportunity to celebrate Canadian culture with music, beverages, and exclusive apparel and tradition.

“Come out and join in the fun and excitement of an annual Canadian celebration,” said Will Black, president of the ACIB.

The party is open to everyone and is free.

The Island Restaurant Group will provide a barbecue lunch package and choice of two alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for $20 which comes with a side of membership to the ACIB. There will also be a cash bar open all afternoon until 5pm.

Mr Black said: “The ACIB Canada Day beach party invites everyone in Bermuda to share in our Canadian culture and celebrate Canada Day which is on Tuesday in Canada. It’s an awesome family event that I am proud to play a part in organising. I’m looking forward to sharing good times with all of our friends this weekend at Warwick Long Bay. Cheers!”

The beach party will be a family friendly event with lifeguards and security working on duty. Exclusive Canadian gear will be on sale for $25 including a couple of giveaways, and over the microphone trivia quizzes. Mr Black will sing the Canadian National Anthem at 2pm.

“We look forward to entertaining all our Canadian, Bermudian and “everywhere-else-on-the-planet-you-are-from” friends this coming June 28 in celebration of our national holiday, Canada Day!”

Admission is free, and the event is from 12pm to 5pm. For more information visit their website at www.canadians.bm or e-mail canadiansinbermuda@gmail.com.
