Bermuda will get a visit next month from 12 members of the Caribbean-Canada Emerging Leaders’ Dialogue (CCELD), an international leadership organisation. The group’s annual mission is to bring together 120 potential leaders from the two regions for a two-week conference that starts in Canada.Smaller groups then travel to locations in Bermuda, Canada and the Caribbean, to examine social, cultural and economic issues, before regrouping in Barbados where each of the groups presents its findings.Bermuda Governor Sir Richard Gozney, who co-chairs the group, said CCELD “gives them new knowledge and skills to engage successfully in the challenges and opportunities they face, as well as exposing them to new cultures and perspectives”.The delegation will examine Bermuda from June 4 to 7.Their visit includes the Berkeley Institute, Cambridge Beaches, King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, the National Museum of Bermuda, Tynes Bay and St George’s.The group will also examine Bermuda’s arts and culture, community issues, conservation, financial services industry and tourism. The 2011 theme for the group is ‘Growth through Connections: Enabling Sustainable Progress’.Useful web link: www.cceld.com.
