National Trust Week.

They start tomorrow with a nature walk around Spittal Pond between 9 a.m. and noon.

Groups of children will be guided around the nature reserve by volunteers and Park Rangers and other volunteers will be posted at different points along the route to talk about the pond's special features.

The children will be given "bingo cards'' showing birds, plants and animals they can expect to see during the walk. As they spot the different things they will be able to mark them off on their cards.

Drinks and snacks will be available at the end of the walk. It is being organised by Trust Conservation Officer Cathy Gosling who can be reached at 236-6483.

On February 14, the Trust will hold a plant and bake sale in the gardens of Waterville in Paget between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

A variety of plants including impatiens and orchids will be available for sale along with baked goodies.
