Pin-up wedding set for Bermuda
heartbreak by marrying his pop-star girlfriend, Louise, in Bermuda.
And some of the Spice Girls are even being lined up as guests at the celebrity ceremony being arranged for next month.
Liverpool midfielder Redknapp missed the end of the English league season through injury.
The knee ligament problems forced the 24-year-old to rule himself out of this month's World Cup, the biggest ever, being held in France.
But heartthrob Redknapp, who has won eight caps for England, would wipe away his misery with a wedding and honeymoon in Bermuda after the tournament, which finishes on July 12.
Jamie and Louise first visited Bermuda last summer and became engaged on the Island.
Details about exactly where and when the wedding ceremony might take place were being kept under wraps last night.
But it has been revealed that the couple plan to lavish their famous guests at a reception at the plush Cafe Lido restaurant in Paget.
The newlyweds and some other stars would stay at the refurbished Elbow Beach Hotel, where rooms cost up to $550 a night.
Friends of the couple planning to come to Bermuda for the marriage ceremony include Baby Spice Emma Bunton, Posh Spice Victoria Adams and Sporty Spice Melanie Chisholm, or "Mel C''.
Footballer friends of the pair who are set to make the trip include Liverpool winger Steve MacManaman, who has filled the boots of axed England hero Paul Gascoigne for the World Cup.
Fellow Liverpool stars Robbie Fowler, romantically linked with Baby Spice, and Jason McAteer, the boyfriend of Sporty Spice, are also due in Bermuda.
Island to host wedding of pop and soccer stars And Arsenal striker Ian Wright and Manchester United and England star David Beckham, who is engaged to Posh Spice, may also feature on the glitzy guest list.
Twenty-two-year-old pop singer Louise, real name Louise Nurding, has known Jamie since the pair grew up together in London's East End.
The couple -- both pin-ups and big names in Britain -- did not even reveal they were seeing each other until late 1996.
They had previously insisted they were "just good friends'' -- despite intense media speculation in the UK.
Jamie already knew about the Island's charms, because his father Harry, manager of London football club West Ham, is close friends with Bermuda soccer coach Clyde Best.
Best played with Redknapp Senior in West Ham teams from the late 1960s and 1970s.
Harry Redknapp also runs annual coaching camps on the Island and goes talent-spotting for young Bermudian hopefuls. His assistant Frank Lampard is already in Bermuda running one coaching clinic for youngsters.
Rooms have yet to be booked at Elbow Beach, but one staff member, a close friend of Jamie Redknapp's from last year's visit, spoke to The Royal Gazette about the wedding.
But he remained tight-lipped, saying: "I can't give too much away because I'm good friends with Jamie.
"They came last year and liked it very much which is why they're coming back again.'' Louise
