In an interview in the June issue of RG Magazine, the star of "Die Hard With A Vengeance'', "Eve's Bayou'' and "A Time To Kill'', tells writer John Burchall he wants to direct movies with a message to counter-act the one-dimensional mass entertainment films Hollywood churns out.

Jackson, who will be in Bermuda next week for his second annual Celebrity Golf Classic, tells RG: "I am convinced that there is a market out there for other types of stories which could be as exciting and as entertaining as "Die Hard''.

Stories about homelessness are an example. Many people just pass them by but I am convinced that we need to get involved in films and other activities that bring about social change.'' Jackson is featured on the cover of the June issue, available free with tomorrow's edition of The Royal Gazette .

June's issue also sees the first of a new annual RG feature, Living History, in which the magazine highlights people and projects that aim to preserve the past in a modern context.
