Man charged with breaking woman’s nose
A Smith’s man denied breaking a woman’s nose following an alleged incident of road rage.Michael Jones, 30, pleaded not guilty in Magistrates’ Court to two counts of causing bodily harm in the May 14 incident in St George’s.Twenty-six-year-old Kenneth Caines, of Curving Avenue, Devonshire, was expected in court on the same matter.His lawyer, Elizabeth Christopher, said he was in hospital.Crown counsel Garrett Byrne said both complainants suffered injuries and one, Debbie Paynter, suffered a broken nose.Ms Christopher alleged that the victim had attacked Mr Jones and Mr Caines in what she described as a “fit of road rage”.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released Mr Jones on $2,000 bail, ordering him not to interfere with the complainants.The matter will return to court on May 31 for mention.
