Alan Thompson named managing partner of BSG
Former Butterfield Bank CEO Alan Thompson has been named managing partner of Bank Solutions Group, a consulting firm for financial services firms.Mr Thompson was appointed CEO of Butterfield Bank in 2002 but retired in 2010 to be replaced by Bradford Kopp just as the troubled bank received $550 million in new equity from a group of institutional investors led by the Carlyle Group.He had come to Bermuda, having served as President and CEO of Riyad Bank in Saudi Arabia.He joined Atlanta based BSG in 2012.“Alan’s banking expertise, leadership qualities and vision are widely recognised, and the entire Firm is enthusiastic that he has agreed to accept this new role,” said BSG’s Senior Managing Partner Les Riedl. “We have a very strong management team in place and we are confident Alan’s skill and knowledge will play a key role in achieving our ambitions of being a premier international consulting firm and trusted advisor serving the financial services industry.”Mr Thompson expressed confidence in his colleagues and the firm’s future prospects.“We have spent the last year in a period of transformational growth.
