Cruise ships land 10,000+ tourists
Four cruise ships will be on the Island this week and depart before the start of the Labour Day long weekend.
The Norwegian Majesty arrived from Baltimore on Monday at 2.15 p.m. and will be berthed at Ordnance Island in St. George's. The vessel, carrying 1,704 passengers, will leave the Island on Thursday at 11 a.m.
The Explorer of the Seas, which arrived from New Jersey on Monday at 8 a.m., left the Island yesterday at 5 p.m. The vessel, which was carrying 3,558 passengers was berthed at Kings Wharf in Dockyard.
The Norwegian Dream arrived from Boston at noon, yesterday, and will depart at noon on Friday. The vessel is carrying 1,993 passengers and will be docked at Penno's Wharf in St. Georges'. The Norwegian Dawn is scheduled to arrive this morning at 8 a.m. from New York. The cruise ship carrying 2,859 passengers will be berthed at Kings Wharf until 5 p.m. on Friday.
The Oleander Voyage arrived on the Island on Sunday and left on Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. The vessel was carrying 119 dry containers and 49 refrigerated ones, including four road trailers, four cars, one mafi, one boat on a trailer, and one truck.
On Monday, the Pacific Guardian sailed at 4.30 p.m. to conduct a cable repair. The vessel will return to station duty at the Flagship berth in Dockyard once completed.
The Somers Isles arrived alongside #7 dock at 12.30 p.m. yesterday from Fernandina Beach, Florida. The vessel will leave behind 142 containers, including eight refrigerated ones, four 20' chassis, one 40' chassis, one trash compactor chute and one utility trailer.
The Bermuda Islander will arrive alongside #7 dock on Thursday shortly after 8 a.m. from Salem, New Jersey. She will discharge 145 containers with freight of all kinds and leave at 8.05 a.m. on Friday to return to Salem.
