another convincing win at Ferry Reach Park.

And now Sterritt can concentrate on completing the double this Sunday with a victory in the National Championships at the same venue (9.15 a.m.).

Second-placed rider in the points series, Peter Matcham, can take some satisfaction in the fact that Sterritt's margin of victory has shrunk somewhat and gives him some hope of victory in the championship race.

Brian Steinhoff's fifth place on Sunday assures him of third place overall in the series, just edging out Paul Livingstone by seven points.

Greg Hopkins, in only his second race of the season, spoiled Paulo Madeiros' chance at a perfect season by taking victory in the veteran category in a time of 39.55. Madeiros easily won the category with eight first place finishes.

Michael Bolton's fourth place finish all but assured him second place in the series unless he can pull off a great result in the final race of the season.

In the junior 15-16s, Chris Conway had to win to keep alive his title hopes...and he did. His victory sets up a nailbiting finish for Sunday's race with Nick Taylor holding a slim four-point lead over Conway.

Conway still has a shot at the title if he wins the final race of the season and Taylor comes third or lower. The battle for third isn't over yet either with fourth-placed John Neill still in with a chance of overtaking third place Trovaughan Smith who holds a seven-point lead over Neil.

James Adams took his sixth victory of the season and in the process the series title. Second place, however, is too close to call after Sunday's race with Geoffrey Smith holding a slim two-point lead over Adam Petty.

Karen Madeiros had another strong ride to wrap up her points title in the women's category with Sheila Ruse finishing second overall. Joanne Sweeney and Kim Lynch both have a shot at taking third overall in the final race.

Ashley Robinson Roberts also rounded her season off with another victory, giving her five for the season. Andre Bassett completed his dominance of the novice category with another victory to take his haul to eight. Tim Fox was unbeatable again and ensured his series title as well. Ricky Sousa Jr finished second again, giving him second overall.
