He was not due to back on the road until October 23.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner told the 19-year-old he was warned the first time when he appeared for doing the same thing and asked Madeiros to repeat what he was told then.“I was told I would get 30 days in jail if I did it again,” he replied.“So what do you expect me to do now?” Mr Warner asked.Replied Madeiros: “I don’t want to go to prison.”Said Mr Warner: “You are the essence of arrogance or contempt challenging the court, that’s the way I see it. Since you’re expecting 30 days, 30 days’ imprisonment it is.”Madeiros pleaded with the magistrate and said he would take “more time off the road or even a big fine”.“I’m an apprentice mechanic, I just got the job. Please I’m begging you, don’t send me to prison please.”Mr Warner ignored him and Madeiros was led out of the courtroom.
