Armed robber's appeal delayed
wait until next week before he can appeal his case.
Randolph Lightbourne is serving consecutive prison terms for causing death by dangerous driving and two counts of armed robbery.
Last May Lightbourne, 32, was given a ten year jail term for the 1995 Woody's Drive Inn heist in which the restaurant's owner was slashed with a knife.
Then, last December he was given an additional 22 years after being convicted of the 1997 armed robbery at the Somerset branch of the Bank of Butterfield.
In that raid a bank worker was pistol whipped.
He is also serving a further 18 months after pleading guilty to causing death by dangerous driving.
His appeal against conviction for the Woody's Drive Inn robbery was due to be heard in court yesterday.
But Court of Appeals President Sir James Astwood agreed to stand the matter down after hearing how Lightbourne's attorney, Marc Telemaque, had not had time to prepare the case.
A letter sent from the court notifying a change of date for the appeal had been incorrectly sent to Lightbourne's former lawyer.
The appeal will now be heard next Monday, March 22.
