The Commissioner of Police has appealed to sightseers to stay away from a house near a cliff damaged during hurricane force weather.Stephen Corbishley wrote on his Facebook page that the family had asked people to refrain from visiting.Mr Corbishley, who did not reveal the home’s location, told the public: “I suspect many of you have seen the image already as it is very dramatic and truly represents the damage we saw over the past week through hurricane force weather. “However, the owners, who I note have children, are at their wit’s end with members of the public actually walking on to their private property to look at the damage and take photos.”He was speaking after the house attracted attention on social media after a large section of the cliff underneath broke away in last Monday’s Hurricane Teddy.Mr Corbishley said: “Only yesterday a family wandered into their garden to have a look and they even had their child in a push chair, which is plain daft given the dangerous situation so close to an open cliff face.” He wrote: “I am sure you will agree that the family have enough to cope with in addressing not only the damage, but the dangerous situation resulting from their property wall at the cliff face collapsing.”Mr Corbishley said the family agreed to allow him to help them regain their privacy. He added: “With my Bermuda Police Service hat on, I note that trespassing on to private property is an offence, but I hope this post closes the matter and it is done in agreement with the family, so let’s show the family some Bermuda team love.”
