Concorde bash coming here

New Year's Eve party -- hours after already celebrating New Year on the other side of the Atlantic.

The partygoers -- who could include film star Jane Fonda and her husband, CNN boss Ted Turner -- will be paying more than $10,000 a head for a four-day trip starting in London and ending in Manhattan. A glittering ball at Bermuda's Southampton Princess Hotel will form the centrepiece.

The group will fly from London to a huge dinner-dance at Shannon airport, Ireland, where they will see in 1993 for the first time. Then they will clamber aboard Concorde again for a supersonic trip to Bermuda, arriving with 40 minutes to go before their second midnight celebration.

The million-dollar trip is open only to holders of a gold charge card issued by Britain's Barclays Bank, all of whom earn at least $45,000 a year. As well as the all-inclusive trip, passengers will get a specially-inscribed watch and the chance of seeing the stunt recorded in the Guinness Book of Records.

Ms Annabel Fiddian-Green, spokeswoman for organisers Atlantic Time Tunnel Ltd., said: "The guests will leave Ireland in 1993 and go back in time into 1992.'' She could not confirm that Ms Fonda or her husband were to take part. "But we would love it if they did join the flight,'' she said. CNN were considering covering the event.
