Glenn Blakeney reinforced his reputation as one of the Island's premier batsmen as he cracked his third century of the season to lead champions St. David's to an emphatic 155-run Premier Division victory over Flatts at Sea Breeze Oval on Sunday.

The talented left-handed opener hammered 133, combining with Sammy Robinson in an opening stand that knocked the heart out of the Flatts bowling attack.

The pair put on 193 before being separated. Robinson finished on 69 during a stand dominated by Blakeney whose vicious attack landed him seven sixes and 17 fours as he batted for 120 minutes. Robinson hit a six and 10 fours.

Once Blakeney was out on 193, St. David's lost four quick wickets but skipper Clay Smith contributed an unbeaten 40 and Del Hollis hit 19 to help them reach 300 and virtually put victory out of Flatts' reach.

Phillip Burgess led the Flatts bowlers with four for 67 off 10 overs while Troy Dean had two for 46 off 10 overs.

Flatts lost their first three wickets for 10 and never recovered from their poor start.

Veteran Troy Dean (9) and skipper Rahji Edness (29) added some stability when they put on 36 for the fifth wicket and veterans Lloyd Fray (35) and Troy Bean (24) further defied the attack by adding 37 for the last wicket before Del Hollis captured Bean's wicket to end the contest.

George O'Brien led St. David's attack with five for 40 off 10 overs while Shannon Raynor and Hollis grabbed two wickets apiece. Raynor gave up just 11 runs from five overs while Hollis conceded 21 from 7.5 overs.

Cleveland 173-9

Western Stars 174-3

Skipper Albert Steede struck his second century of the season at St. John's Field as Stars defeated Cleveland by seven wickets.

With Steede in superb form, Stars had little trouble reaching their target. The captain played a dominant role after losing opening partner Jermaine Postlethwaite (10) with the score on 29.

Steede, who finished on 101, added 68 for the second wicket with Gershon Gibbons (15) and then took the team to victory with the help of veteran Arnold Manders who was not out on 18. Steede faced 115 balls and struck two sixes and 11 fours.

Veteran all-rounder Peter Philpott led Cleveland's batting with 42 while opener Aaron Adams struck 34. Dwayne Leverock was the best of the Stars bowlers, taking two for 24 off 10 overs.

Bailey's Bay 172

St. George's 120

Bailey's Bay defeated St. George's by 52 runs at Wellington Oval with Dennis Pilgrim taking three wickets for 29 runs off 10 overs, skipper Corey Hill grabbing two for 26 and Jermaine Outerbridge two for 32.

Bay had reached a respectable 172 thanks to opener Roderick Masters who stroked 49 and Outerbridge who followed with 41. Irving Romaine scored 22 and Hill 16. Travis Smith was the best bowler for St. George's with three for 35 off seven overs.

St. George's never really recovered from a shaky start when they lost opener Detroy Smith (one) with the score on three. Four more wickets fell as the score creeped to the half century mark thanks to 16 from Charlie Marshall and 12 from Mark Ray.

A brisk 25 not out by number 10 bat Gregg Foggo helped the East Enders to get past a hundred but they never threatened Bay's total.
