Gold galore for veteran swimmers
Bermuda?s veteran swimmers continue to haul in the medals at All Americas Masters Championships in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Colleen Nelson leads the way with five golds while Anne Maule, Lesley Balcombe, Chris Smith and Paul DiGiulio have also stood on top of the podium following winning performances.
In the 100 metres breaststroke, Nelson clocked one minute, 36.84 seconds to win the 55-59 category and then added another gold, setting a new meet record in the 200 metres freestyle of 2:55.41.
She also grabbed gold in the 50 metres breaststroke in 42.07 and in the 400 metres freestyle in 6:09.86.
Maule duplicated that feat in the 70-74 age group 50 metres butterfly, slashing five seconds off the meet record on her way to gold in a time of 54.11. She also set a meet record in the 100m butterfly, finishing first in 2:05.77, took silver in the 400m freestyle and bronze in the 200m freestyle and 50m freestyle.
