Doug Baker, FCA, Chair of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants was in Bermuda last week to congratulate Bermuda's newest C.A.'s, C.PA's and A.C.A at the annual convocation.
John Wight C.A, Chair of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bermuda ("ICAB") commented that this 2010 convocation marked the highest number of Bermudians qualifying for the Chartered Accountant designation since ICAB was established in 1973. Mr. Wight added that "last week we heard Home Affairs Minister Burch encourage Bermudians to seek further education if they want to succeed in the workforce". ICAB supports the Minister's comments and is pleased that through education and commitment, these 19 young Bermudians and 5 students who studied and challenged the Uniform Final Examination from abroad, but now reside in Bermuda, have achieved the most highly recognized professional accounting designation in the marketplace. ICAB is proud of Bermuda's newest CA's who will someday become our business leaders of tomorrow".
