Horseman hooks top award

and his team on Equaliser boated a winning haul of yellowfin tuna to emerge as overall champions in the annual Bacardi Angling Tournament on Sunday.

In one of the smallest weigh-ins in memory, Horseman defied the generally slow action and the best efforts of 68 other boats to clinch the High Point Boat award while his wife, Suzanne, hooked two of their six fish to win the top lady angler prize with 128.7 points.

In total, Equaliser boated six yellowfin for 259.7 points. Just 37 fish were brought to the Dockyard weigh-in station.

Equaliser thus topped Class C for professional entries, ahead of Nick New's Trickshot Winner in Class A for boats over 27 feet was Shibumi owned by Richard Brewer while in Class B for boats under 27 feet, David Semos in Aquaria II took the honours.

Overall high point angler was Andrew Dias who boated two wahoo and a bonito for 117.4 points.
