Happy Haulers hook Light Tackle title
Casey and Christian -- walked away with top honours in last week's annual International Light Tackle Fishing Tournament, finishing with a points total of more than double their nearest rivals.
Having led after the first day of the four-day event, the Haulers slipped behind Two Yanks and an Onion on the second day, but then rebounded to take the lead for good with a huge catch on the third day.
Fishing aboard Capt. Russell Young's Sea Wolfe , the Sowers team, from Virginia, accumulated a massive 17,595 points which was more than any of the other six teams totalled during the entire four days.
Buddy Sowers hooked two Yellowfin tuna of 47-lbs and 48-lbs, Casey landed a Wahoo of 41-lbs in addition to two 30-lb-plus Yellowfin and Christian counted among his four-fish catch a Yellowfin of 29-lbs.
Buddy ended the tournament as high point angler (12,936.47) ahead of Casey (12,517.31) with Kevin Winter (8,462.2) a distant third.
High point boat was Sea Wolfe (26,089.14) with Challenger second (19,360.28) and Jamie C third (17,305.59).
