The 18-year-old was attending a party at the Southampton Princess Hotel on Sunday evening when a fight broke out between two men at an adjoining table.
During the scuffle, which happened just after midnight, a champagne bottle was thrown, smashing against a wall and showering the victim in broken glass.
The woman received a deep gash to her right cheek which required 19 stitches.
She also suffered many other cuts to her face and neck and had to be taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The 75-year-old victim was queuing inside a Hamilton bank waiting to make a withdrawal when he was approached by what he thought was a female employee.
She said that she would carry out the transaction for him so that he would not have to stand and wait in a queue.
Although the thief carried out the transaction and returned to the man with his money, it was later discovered that she had withdrawn more than he had asked for, pocketing the difference.
Although the incident happened in October, Police have only just been informed about the theft.
The victim was said to be so traumatised by the theft that he had to be taken to hospital for treatment.
