COMPANY MOVES
Endurance hires Mason from WR Berkley
Bermuda-based re/insurer Endurance has announced the appointment of Gene Mason as its new senior vice-president and head of professional lines for US wholesale insurance operations.
Mr. Mason will be based in Endurance's Stamford office and will be responsible for the company's US middle market professional liability practice, which offers specialised miscellaneous errors and omissions (E&O) coverages for insurance agents and brokers, real estate services, consulting, technology and media clients, as well as traditional classes.
Previously, Mr. Mason was with facultative resources at WR Berkley, where he built the company's professional liability facultative reinsurance operation with a focus on E&O products.
Torus appoints Vigueras as environmental VP
Bermuda-based re/insurer Torus has announced the appointment of sector specialist Adrianne Vigueras as vice-president to develop tailored environmental products for small and mid-sized businesses in the US. Based in the company's Jersey City office, Ms Vigueras will also develop on-environmental programmes for contractors, manufacturers and premises exposures. She will also work closely with Torus' renewable energy and healthcare teams to enable coverage by adding environmental components to their products.
The move comes on the back of the launch of Torus' management liability, healthcare and renewable energy practices earlier this year.
The formation of the new platform comes as continually changing Environmental Protection Agency regulations have been increasing awareness among business owners of the need for environmental insurance.
