Learning curve for foursome in Scotland
Gabby Vincent, the Bermuda gymnast, was the Island’s top performer at the Commonwealth Invitational in Perth, Scotland, at the weekend.
Vincent, who won gold on the vault and bars at the Chicago Style Invitational in February, finished 21st with a score of 41.60, including a personal best on the bars with 9.8.
The 16-year-old was joined by Bermuda team-mates Tabytha Hofheins, 16, Sydney Mason, 15 and Zantae Dill, 15, who were all competing in their first big senior international competition. Hofheins finished in 22nd with a score of 41.55, earning her personal best on the floor with a 10.9. Dill was impressive in the vault, delivering a personal best, 12.25, to finish 24th.
Mason rounded out the group in 27th with a score of 38.35. The Invitational brought together gymnasts from Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, Trinidad, Malaysia, India, Malta and the Isle of Man.
Vincent, Dill, Mason and Morgan Beckles, 18, will represent Bermuda at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer.
