Southampton earn two more victories

First Division champions Southampton Rangers warmed up for their Western Counties clash this weekend against Somerset Bridge with two more wins on the weekend.

Cup Match all-rounder Janeiro Tucker smashed 150 on Sunday as Rangers amassed 321-7 before declaring in this Open Championship match at Southampton Oval.

Coming in at 38-2, Tucker quickly set into the Warwick bowling, though not before a third wicket went down on 49.

Tucker dominated a fourth wicket stand of 93 with Kwame Tucker who contributed just 11 as Tucker raced towards his century. Tucker then added 126 with Lyndon Raynor for the fifth wicket as he completed his 150 and Raynor scored 50 of his own. Tucker's knock included 18 fours and six sixes and Dwayne Steede added 30 not out to help Rangers pass the 300 mark.

Warwick's batting was led by opener Jeffrey James' 39 and 36 from number three bat Daniel Morgan.

Southampton 201 , Social Club 73 Even without Janeiro Tucker, who was resting from Cup Match, Rangers proved too strong for Social Club in this make-up match on Saturday at Nationals.

Tailender Mark Tucker was high man for Rangers with 42 not out while Keith Wainwright and Dwayne Steede both scored 28. Tucker and Kennedy Wainwright added 46 for the last wicket with Wainwright scoring 15 as the 200 was posted.

Kevin Bean and Terry Stovell led the Social club bowling, Bean taking three for 56 from 11 overs and Stovell four for 25 off 5.1 overs.

Bean was also high man for Social Club with 32 while Dwayne Adams was the only other man in double figures with 11. Steede claimed five for 30 from 10 overs and Tucoma Robinson five for three from 2.2 overs which wiped out the Social Club tail as the last five wickets fell for 15 runs.

Somerset Bridge 223 , Social Club 96 Brian Gibbons scored 66 in Bridge's total of 223 and then claimed three for 15 from 7.2 overs as the west enders beat Social Club by 127 at White Hill field Sunday.

Also contributing to the Bridge run cause were Kenny Maybury with 58 and opener Jamie Cann with 42. Francis Richardson contributed 22. Webster Mills led the Social Club bowling with four for 20.

Cecil Tucker scored 34 for Social Club while the only other batsmen in double figures were Thomas Brangman and Darrell with 13 apiece. Gibbons warmed up for the Western Counties with three for 15.
