The sixth annual Argus Health Fair will be held on April 7 World Health Day.

There will be more than 40 booths at the fair representing health-related charities and organisations.

Health professionals will be on hand to answer questions and provide information to the public on a wide range of health topics, including coping with diabetes, substance abuse, oral health, the new hospitalist programme at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and mental health services.

Argus booth visitors will get the chance to try out the interactive electronic fitness game, Nintendo Wii Fit.

People who play the game will be entered into a prize draw to win one of two Nintendo Wii game consoles and the Wii Fit software package.

Gerald Simons, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Argus Group, said: "At Argus, we have seen health insurance claims continue to rise year over year and we want to promote exercise to counteract this trend.

"We also want to use this year's Argus Health Fair to encourage persons who don't currently exercise to get up and get moving with our easy to use walking routes. The routes vary in length to make them appropriate to all levels of fitness."

The event, on the sixth floor of the new Argus Building on Wesley Street, Hamilton, on Wednesday, April 7, from 10.30 a.m. to 4 p.m., is being held in partnership with the Bermuda Hospitals Board and the Department of Health. Admission is free.
