Ramblers invites you to an informal narrative walking tour of Somerset.

The ramble will introduce walkers to a slice of "ye olde Bermuda'' in rural Somerset, also known as "God's own country,'' as they explore 38 acres of endemic and native species habitat, park land, trails, farmland, shoreline, and panoramic vistas.

The tour will depart from the parking lot of Hog Bay Park every Friday at 10 a.m.

Personalised commentary on ecology, culture and Bermudiana will be provided en route, and the two hour trip includes historic Somerset Bridge, the smallest drawbridge in the world, dating back to 1612 and a short section of the old Railway Trail.

The tour is designed to conclude with time to spare to board a leisurely 45 minute scenic ferry ride across the Great Sound to the Historic Naval Dockyard The tour is complimentary although donations are appreciated with part proceeds going to local conservation and service organisations.

To get to the starting point, travel west toward Dockyard, past Port Royal Golf Course, Traditions Restaurant, and the Maxi Mart, slow down past the Junius Burrows Plumbing and Onion Patch Lane and turn left into the car park.

Buses seven and eight stop right outside the park entrance, and for further information call 238-3438, or e-mail to rockrambler y bermudamail.com.
