Vehicle emissions bill tops House agenda

in Bermuda, and consider a motion by an Opposition MP backbencher that the House of Assembly backs a 1998 strategy document aimed at tackling vehicle emissions.

Government Whip Ottiwell Simmons said last night: "I have been told Mr. Moniz intends to bring this matter forward.'' The only other business of the House of Assembly is the Trustee Amendment Bill which tightens up and clarifies the 1975 Trustee Act and a lease proposal.

MPs will be asked to back Government entering into a 99-year lease with the National Trust to lease the Sandys Parish Springfield property.

The proposed lease is for a nominal rent of $1 a year on condition Government undertakes to renovate the building and keep it in good repair.
